On 15th July 2005 the Manu Library conducted the essay and elocution
competitions for the nineth and tenth standard students on K.Kamaraj,
ex-chief Minister of Tamil Nadu to award prizes to the winners on
the latter’s memorial day and the Gandhi Jeyanthi which would
fall on 2nd October 2005.
The next item of the programmes the Manu Trust celebrated at the
Manu Library premises was the Independence Day of India on 15th
August 2005. The function started at 10.00 am with the flag hoisting
by Mr.Muthalagan. Mr.Subbiah Nadar presided over the function. The
flag song and the prayer song were sung by the students and Mr.Gopalakrishnan
respectively. Mr.Chidambaram welcomed the audience and Dr.Muthusamy
delivered special address on India’s freedom. The congratulators
of the function were Mr.Durairaj, Mr.R.Rajendran, ex-Army, Janab
Mohammed Sherib, Mr.M.Periasamy (export), Dr.P.Karuppanan, Mr.Senthamil
Subbiah from Sivakasi, Mr.S.Kannan, Suthi Trust, Mrs.Thilagavathi
and Miss.Vidhya Sri. The Yoga students of the Sivanantha Vidyalaya
did the yoga exercises and the students of Kaluvanacheri Primary
School performed the cultural activities. The job of rapprochement
was done in a very grand manner by Mr.Muniyandi, Mother Computer.
The thanks giving address was made by Mr.R.Bharathan as usual.
With the help of the Manu Trust The Sekkilar Association of Kariapatti
celebrated well the 34th Birth Day celebration of Mr.B.Mohana Saravanan,
USA, at the Manu Library premises on 18th September 2005. Mr.Chockkalingam
took the chair. The XIIth Thirumurai Associations of Aruppukkottai,
Thiruchuli and Kariapatti chanted the Thiruvasagam. Sri.Malaikkeni
Swamigal showered mercy on Mr.B.Mohana Saravanan in the presence
of Mr.T.M.V.Sundara Vadivel Raja, Jamindar of Chengulachi, Dindugal.
Mr.Bharathan welcomed the gathering and Chidambaram proposed the
vote of thanks.
The 2nd October is the most important day in the history of India
on which Mahatma Gandhi and Lal Bhagadur Sastri were born and Kamaraj
passed away. So this Day was celebrated well here this year.Mr.Subbiah
alias Alagiri, ex-INA, Acted as the President of the function. Mr.
Bharathan welcomed the audience and Chief guests and some students
sang the prayer song. Mr. Durairaj, Mr. Subbaraj, Mr. Muthalagan
and Mr. Govindaraj appreciated the style of functioning the Manu
Library and of the function itself. Mr. Gopal Professor from Madurai
made a very long speech on the services and legacies of Gandhiji,
Sastri and Kamaraj. Mrs. Thilagavathi distributed prizes to the
winners of the essay and elocution competitions held on 15th July
2005. Mr. Chidambaram acted as the proposer of the vote of thanks.
The Manu Library conducted drawing compettions for the students
of Ist to V standards and the General knowledge competitions for
the students of VI to VII standards on 25th September 2005 to give
prizes on the Third Annual Day of the library which was to be held
on 16th October 2005.
The Third Annual Day of the Manu library was celebrated at the Subbaiah
Nadar-Amala Marriage Hall , Kariapatti on 16th October 2005. Mr.
Subbiah Nadar was the president of the function. The library awarded
prizes to Three hundred students. So the function was named Prize
Distribution Function. Mr. Durairaj and Mr. Bhahirathan were chief
guests. Some students sang the prayer song. The grandsons of the
T.V. singer Mr. Karuppiah hosted the guests with the their fanfare
.Mr.Muthalagan welcomed the audience and Mr. Chidambaram read out
the Annual Report of the Manu Library. Mr. Bilavendran, Mr. Chockkalingam,
Mrs. Thilagavathi, Janab Doab Mohammed, Mr. Ponraj, Mr. Senthamil
Subbiah, Mr. Srinivasagam, Dr. Karuppanan, Mr. Periasamy, Dr. Muthusamy,
Mr. Asokan, Mr. Manickavasagam, Mr. Packiaraj and Mr. Anandhakrishnasamy
felicitated the function. Mr. G. Krishnamoorthi, SSI, made a special
address on the importance of a library. Mr. S. Bharathan, Asst.
Manager, Ayyanar Mills, Mallankinar, distributed prizes to the winners
of the competitions held on 16th October 2005. Janab Mohammed Sherib
did the thanks giving address. Mr. Nihil Muniandi was the announcer
of the programmes listed for the function.
One of the most grand functions of the Manu Library was the Children’s
Day Celebration, held on 14th November 2005. The function was very
colourful with masquerade competitions and cultural activities made
by the school students, Kaluvanacheri. Mrs. Jeya performed well
the prize distribution ceremony.
Moreover the Manu Library wanted to praise the skills of ladies
who knew the drawings of kolams. So the Library conducted Kolam
competitions on 10th January 2006 for the women belonged to the
Korandi village. They drew two kinds od kolams, The Pointing Kolam
and the Rangoli Kolam. Mr. Arumugam valued the competition sheets
of Kolam drawings and chose the winners. The President of Korandi
panchayat, Mr. M.R.G. Siva Sakthi, distributed prizes to these winners
at the function held on 15th January 2006 under his presidentship.
The Manu Trust, The Government Hospital, Kariapatti and the Farmer
Federation of Irrigation jointly conducted symposium on Herbals
and the Free Siddha Mega Special Medical Camp on 21st March 2006.
Our District Collector, Mr. A. Mohammed Aslam, I.A.S., was the chair
person of the function held at the premises of the Manu Library.
Mr. R. Bhahirathan, member of the Manu Trust warmly welcomed the
District Colletor. Mr. K. Rengaraj, BIM, Virudhunagar District Siddha
Doctor spoke on the benefits of the Herbal cultivation. Mr. K. Murali,
Manager, State Bank of India, Kariapatti, Mr. C. Sarath Babu, Planning
Commissioner, ASSIFA, Kariapatti, Dr. P. Bothiraj, Government Hospital,
Kariapatti. Dr. N. Parimalachelvan, Siddha Medicines, Mallankinar
Primary Health Centre,Dr.Mrs.Thilaka Mani, Primary Health Centere,Pandalkudi
and the officials of the Indian Homeopathi Department were the speial
guests to this function. Janab S. Muhammed Sherib mde the proposal
of vote of thanks to all.
SPECIAL EFFECT:-
To give an Opportunity to the Housewives, aged people and drop outs
for learning activity, we have been conducting tentatively the Rotation
Library in Kariapatti for the past one year. It our attempt finds
successful in this village, we want to extended the same learning
facility to other villages.
In Korandi village , we have been conducting as a voluntary service
the tuition classes to the weak students from the Panchayat Union
Higher Elementary School to enhance their learning capacity. If
we get any monetary assistance, we can also extend this scheme to
some other places which require tution facilities.
